Okay, so I’ve been putting this off for a while now cuz of exams and travelling back n forth.
I am not expert when it comes to makeup, I’ve just learnt how to wear it with a lot of trial and error in time. And I’d like to think that over time I’ve learnt more about my skin.
My skin type is combination and I have acne and acne scars. Alhamdullilah it has gone down since recently because I’ve been more aware of what works for me and what doesn’t. More about that in another post.
Soo lets begin 🙂
I always wash my face with a cleanser before applying any makeup and then use my glycolic wipes as a toner. Moisturize well before, since it acts as a good base and also keeps your face hydrated. I start with my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade “Ginger” to cover up the scars wherever they are and I use a Miracle Complexion Sponge by Real Techniques to do so. Make sure you don’t use it in wiping motions, instead dab the product on.
Then I use the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation in shade “Vallauris” which is medium 1.5 with a pink undertone.
This gives me a full natural looking coverage and because of my scars I dab a bit more on the spots that are visible. This foundation literally lives up to its name, it’s very light weight and doesn’t give me a cakey feeling.
Then I use the same NARS concealer for my under-eyes and I leave it without blending for some time, some of you will know this as “Baking”. During that time I fill in my eyebrows using Benefits “Precisely, My Brow Pencil” in shade 4. Since I do not shape my eyebrows, I tend to brush it first with the built-in spoolie then I start filling it in with the thin pencil in small strokes until I’m satisfied with how it looks. My favourite eyeliner is the Kat von D Tattoo Liner in colour “Trooper” which is a super matte black, like all of you out there I struggle with my eyeliner too and after a gazillion tries it almost looks like a perfect wing. Then I go back and blend the under-eye concealer with the miracle sponge and set it using Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette in light shade “Lucid” which is a pinkish nude with Real Techniques Core Collection Contour Brush. I don’t usually contour so I’m skipping that step.
Then I use Benefits “Rockateur” which is a rose gold blush. I apply this using a Blush Brush by Real Techniques.
And again set my whole face using the same light shade from the Kat Von D palette. So for finishing touches I apply my “Roller Lash” mascara by Benefit this makes my eyelashes really long, like seriously long and then for a more voluminous false lashes appearance I use “Smoky Extravagant” by Make Up For Ever.
I have a hard time picking a lipstick so my go-to is “Spiked with Rum” from Wet n Wild. I spray my “Prep + Prime Fix + ” by Mac and before it completely dries I apply my “Mary-Lou Manizer” by “the Balm” for that Glooowwwww on my cheekbones, tip of my nose and my cupids bow.
AND THAT’S ALL FOLKS !
Below is a picture of all the products used.
